I am trying to remove the Dash pack in my 1970 and i can't figure out how to get the speedo cable out of the back. Help Please.

Doesn't it just unscrew?

 

It unscrews with I believe a 3/4" wrench but it is a PITA to get at if you don't have much slack in the wiring or cable!!

 

That's the problem i am running into i cant get my hand let alone a wrench in there to get it out. It's an AC car so i got the venting in the way. I cant figure out how to get that out of the way unless the dash cluster is out.

 

I think you press a retaining clip and it will comeoff. I just removed my '70 guage cluster about two weeks ago and it was not held on with a nut.

 

I cant get my hand in there well enough to tell what it is....Curzzar how did you get to it? was it from under the dash?

Does anyone know what all is involved with removing the lower dash (easy hard, what all has to be removed to do it?

 

you could take it loose from tha trany to give you some slack
