Trying To ID a 1969 Fastback?
!969 was a start of new locations. Up until then the Vin was stamped on the inner fenders and on the left side of the radiator support. If the Mustang was made in 68 there may be stamps on these places. if not it's at the bottom of windshield, drivers side.
Contact your local ford Parts guy, Find an old guy. There is a thing called a FBI vin location , but I’ve never seen one.
As long as we are talking Vin number, Get a small piece of paper and cover your Vin number on your dash, something removable so that officers can still give you a ticket. There is a thing called vin "cloning" where car thief rings make vin plates from other car s they no are not stolen and get lost tittles useing that vin. You only know it when they do something wrong and you do something wrong or vin check time of any kind.
I don't have a classic mustang. Im just old and know stuff. I had a 69 Mach 1 in 69.
Look at your radiator bracket on the lefts side, If there are numbers stamped in it , thats the vin, if not the car was built latter and only one is under windshield and door.

I dont know that this applies to a classic but on my 88 when you open the trunk its stamped on the inside lip of the body. Im pretty sure there isnt one on a classic but you could check

You are going to spend more money restoring the car then you would get out of it selling itall for a car that you have no clue what it is...I agree with 69mach, let it be.I hear scrap prices arehigh right now.
