hi everyone,this is my first post.Last summer i bought a 1965 mustang coupe,The guy i bought it from said the engine wasnt the original,but i dont know what it is,the only # on it is c60e-9425-b,can anyone help me out????thanks!!

thanks for the help!the guy i got it from told me it was a 302,but the FAQ section says its a 289 65-67,am i missing something?

 

the 289 and 302 are almost exactly the same engine, every part bolts onto both blocks

 

C6 is 1966, they didnt start the 302's till 68 so it would have to be a 289 (which is better imo)

 

Where did you get the number? Off the manifold? If so 289 and 302 can use the same manifold. You really need the number off the block down by the starter.
