Default Idler Arm question

ok so im finally install my disc brakes on the front along with upper control arms, lower, and springs.

I was in the process of intalling the steering tie rods and idler arm.

When i noticed on the new idler arm, it is the same shape and size, but on the end that attaches the the body if the car. That the piece that the rod goes into...

Ok if you look at attached picture.at the top piece. The silver thing stinking out is on the right side... I cant remember how the new one is vs the old one.....except that on the new idler arm the silver thing stinking out is on the opposite side.....so lets say the picture is new idler arm...well on my idler arm the silver thing is on the left side insread of the right side. Everything is the same shape...that is the only difference.

So I hope i didnt confuse you all that much, cuz i know i did.

so my question is, is that ok, that that piece soposse to slide ???

Or they move over time when they wear out the bushing.

if you don't need the old one, put the old one into a vice, swing a hammer on the bushing and see if it looks like the new one then
