Default Cooling Fan!

I have a 69 Fastback 302 with an automatic. It seems that the cooling fan does not fit properly! The fan is a five blade style that is 17". The car has no a/c but does have P/S. The fan seems to sit too low and the blades hit the cowling on the bottom. Does anyone have any ideas?

Auto parts stores carry different size cooling fans so you can swap to a 16" if you want - if theirs clearance at the top but not the bottom maybe your engine mounts have gone south or your fan shroud isn't mounted right?
