Default Power Steering Pump! NOT AGAIN!

I learnt something new today..never let anyone else drive ur car....ESPECIALLY ur classic....a really good friend of mine was over..met him after 4 years...took the stang out.....bottom line...he burst my power steering pipe!! 2nd time in 3 months!!! Isnt there a system which releases pressure in case of a FULLY LOCKED TURN??? Something that bleeds the excessive pressure build up?

Is this a common problem with mustangs tho?

Is he holding the steering against the stops for prolonged periods of time? Either way, that shouldn't pop the hose. Are you replacing them with good quality new hoses? I have a 1500 psi 4.5 gpm pump on my Jeep with a large 808 gear box and hydroboost brakes and have never had a problem with a hose.

What part of the world did the parts come from? NPD usually has good quality stuff.

probably the best thing i've done to mine is put in a Manual Steering Adapter, the power steering in these cars are plagued with problems...

The best solution is to convert to manual entirely. If that is still too sloppy, rack and pinion. The power setup is the ultimate in sloppy.
