we got an oil leak, but only when the car is parked on an angle, any ideas as to whats causing it?

 

what angle and what fluid is it (some people say oild leak if PS fluid) just to verify

 

The rear main seal most likely or the front gasket of the pan.

 

thats what i was thinking but we still dunno for sure yet

 

umm, i checked, its coming off the plate thats on the front of the tranny, and only when the car is parked facing uphill. tightened down the rear bolts on the oil pan, and i think if it was the rear main seal it would leak all of the time.

 

That sounds like a rear main seal to me, but that is strange. If it were an oil pan gasket it would leak all the time I would think.

 

yeah its totally weird, because it usually gets warmed up in the garage before its backed out, and theres not a single drop in there, and its not a big drop/puddle either/

 

hmm what oil are you using people that switch to a syn blend have this prob when its cold out
