Default Need 8.8 specs

Iwill be installing a 8.8 into a 73Q codeconvertible and wondering if anyone has the specs on the different housings so that I can see what will fit my car. I searched the post already and could not get the info i need.
I know the pros and cons on this swap. ButI have a good reason.
Thanks for any help you guys can offer
George

Most of the good info on 8.8 swaps relates to Jeeps. It is a popular swap because is is nearly the same width as a YJ/TJ axle, can have disc brakes, somewhat low factory gears, limited slip and are cheap, plentiful and relatively new.

Doing a search on Google for "Jeep Ford 8.8 swap" yields several links like this:

http://www.jedi.com/obiwan/jeep/ford88.html

FWIW, I have a few friends who have done this swap in their Jeeps and are quite pleased with it. A friend of mine helped Superior Axle develop the "Super 88" kit which gives stronger axles and eliminates the c-clips in a way that is strong enough to withstand the lateral loads encountered in rockcrawling.

Good luck!

Thanks. Yes my experience with this swap is jeep related also. The problem is that the jeep swap is ussually from an explorer and the width is too narrow. I may have to use a fullsize and narrow it to fit.
No big dealI guess.
Thanks again

That is just for the housing and axle shafts. Click the "suggested parts" tab and you'll see that the center section and brakes will run you another $1600.

I work forOX Locker and we are lauching a new 8.8 locker. So i am interested in installing one in my car. I had two in my Jeep but that is gone and the only thing left is the 73. Plus it makes a good testbed for changes in the future as it relates to street driving. We have tons off off road expereince but laltely we have been crossing over to streep/strip cars too. Usually the Dana 60 but the 8.8 opens up a whole new world.
