Default Good Find? 1970 mustang

Ihave a friend who has a friend who has a brother that is in a bit ofa pickle and needs to sell his 1970 mustang fastback fast. The catr has the original yellow paint but it is faded. It has no rust. The car has some engine work, including NOS installed and has some tranny work. It has a manual transmission. It has BRAND NEW primium rims and tires. And a 302 engine. The guy is asking 3000 dollars cash and I was wondering if this is a good investment.. I currently have a 69 cooupe with a straight six that i am restoring but all this car needs is new paint and upolstry. I could have that done for around 3000. I guess my question is, Is a restored 70 fastback worth 6000 dollars and is this a good find.

Thanks
Eric

Looking to fix and sell? Good bet you won't get rich doing that. But no rust and good tires and wheels sound like a good place to start. If it is truly just paint and interior 3k is decent buy. A good paint job would be 3-4k minimum and interior could get up there too if you need seats covers, foam, carpet, headliner, new bezels, door panels, and all the other little things. Then you have to ask yourself if he is running gas what has he tore up? Are the motor, carb, tranny and rearend strong? Is the steering and breaks solid?

I have never seen a car for sale for 3k that needed just 3 more to "restore". But hey...maybe this is it.

If you have the $6K and the fastback runs with a V8 in it, you are ahead buying it.. I would buy it if i had the cash, but i think first i would find a 70 cougar.. i like them better..lol

3K for a 70 fastback in the condition u state is definitely good. i payed WAY more than that for my 69 mach 1, and the condition is ok, but needed engine work.

at the prices things are at right now...id buy that almost sight unseen....or at least "agree" to buy it and have a quick look over before i got there to make sure its not like bowing the middle from rusted out floors or something really bad....that is if i had that much extra money lying around.
