Default Weatherstripping Adhesive

What's the best adhesive to use for replacing weatherstripping? I've used the contact cement before and that stuff gets everywhere. I was hoping there was something out there that wasn't so stringy and hard to mess with.

Thanks,

I've always used 3M brand, black. It seems to work the best. It's still a little messy but it works.

I use the 3M super adhesive "Black", it matches the weather stripping, the yellow is suposed to be better but it doesn't look as clean to me. I have had no problems with the black. It's about $6 at your local autoparts store. Follow the instrucitons and your money!

They're all messy so be sure to get the 3M Adhesive Cleaner to clean it up. Doesn't hurt the paint.

+1 on the 3M black - worked great on my trunk weatherstripping and plan to use it again on the doors!
