Dynamat is also the most popular name, so you're paying for their marketing as much as you are for their product. I've heard great things about Second Skin damplifier, apparently it's much better than regular Dynamat, but I have no personal experience with it.

The name of my shop is Mustangs, Etc - located in Van Nuys, California. The owner and his many classic Mustangs have been featured in numerousmagazines and his son has an encyclopedic knowedge of these vintage cars.

Based on feedback from several sources, inclduing The Mustang Club of California, they are one of the most knowlegable shops in the country. 1st class!

Is that the shop on Bessemer or Calvert or somewhere near there? Until a few months ago, my office was on Erwin @ Vesper, and if that is the shop I'm thinking of, it is just down the street. I used to go there years ago with my first Mustang. Is is still a really small, kinda of messy, retail shop with a hundred Mustangs parked onsite?

Do they do paint and body, and if so, how are they priced?

About 10 years ago I laid a couple of piece of roofing shingle underneath my backseat and it reduced the interior resonance (sp?) considerable. I had forgotten about it until I took the backseat out just recently to install my new shocks. It formed perfectly to the hump and floor pan. Not near as sexy as the Dynamat but crudely effective.

Gothand:

Yup, that's the place.

"Small" - they are embraking on a major expansion

"100's of Mustangs in the front" - true, ranging in price from a few thousand to a Boss worth close to $400,000!

"Messy" - I think of the place as 1950's charming

Quailty - take some time and revisit - you'll see for yourself

Almost forgot,

Regarding paint ... for a top level job (interior and engine removal, two stage paint, color sanding, etc.) it is my understanding that it will run close to $10,000.

A lot of money, but from the cars that I have seen , a lot of quality.

I think dynamat on ebay is pretty cheap, although I havent looked around very much. For 100sqft, the "extreme" is $104 or the "Bquiet"(top model) is 209. Shipping kinda sucksthough...
