go ***** out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

seriously, build that puppy to throw out at least 300 HP, firm up the tranny if its an auto, throw some gears in there. then, before you wrap it around a tree and wreck a beautiful car go get yourself some upgraded suspension parts and better brakes.

Remember Parnelli Jones' Mustang - it kicked so much A** in Trans Am racing in 1970 that it would a street legal dead nuts car to look like his.

so this is like "build your fantasy '70 Fastback"???
how big is the budget?

If someone else was paying the bills...
i'd build the 302 into a 347 or preferably chuck in a 351w stroked to 408 (I just prefer the small blocks for less weight). Carb, exhaust etc to suit...so go see a real good engine builder and quote the number you want. 408 should still be nicelystreetable at 450(flywheel) hp! The right guy will get more and keep it driveable on the pubic roads.
big radiator, custom shrouded thermo fans
bigger wheels to allow bigger better brakes but i'd try to stay classic in appearance.
Traclok/Detroit soft locker9" rear, 31 spline, billet axles, 3.5 (408)or 3.7 (347) gearing
T56 5 speed (i think thats the higher torque rated one - someone will correct me)
Coil over adjustable suspension, lowered somebutnot dragging on the ground
rack and pinion steering
decent sway bars, sub frame connectors, all the other suspension fruit you can get!

inside,
roll cage??, comp belts, comp seats with a good wrap around the ribs and shoulders,
custom dash
hurst shifter (if this can be mated to the 5 speed???)
aftermarket wheel...maybe something like an OMP Corsica - suede grip, nice deep dish, 3 spoke.
air con? Nah, just kidding
maybe a big sound system if thats your thing, but i prefer the 8 cylinder symphony
all black trim.

outside
color...gee thats probably the hardest choice. I like the metallic lime green on the 70 Fastback, but then again the white they used on the 69 or70 Boss was nice too. Not too stark. To me there are too many redMach1s and the orange and whatsit called paleblue should stick to the bosses.I guessI am not a fan of lookalikes. If it aint a boss, make it a better than a boss car that doesnt try to imitate one IMO. Jeez, I will have the rest of the car ready to go before I could decide the color, but in principal i dont think i'd go custom on a 70 fastback. i'd want an original in keeping with the theme below.

overall theme...i'd be building something that looks nice, neat, stock(ish) and hides all the really fast bits until its way too late!

I'd paint it black. Install a front chin spoiler, deck spoiler and window louvers. Install Mach 1 bucket seats. Magnum 500 wheels. Install Boss 302 cylinder heads, aluminum intake, MSD ignition system, and a big 4 barrel Holley on top.

Still have cowl repair, new door skins & qtrs (wavey from previous), engine bay and exerior paint - Either black or white.

By the way my wife thinks I'm nuts. I tell her it could be worst could spend money on gambling & hookers. May want to try a different argument though that one has not worked to well.
