Default Quick help on Engine casting #

So, I take the wife to lunch today in the Mustang. I go to drop her off and a guy approaches me. He asks what motor I have and such...

He then tells me he has a Boss 302 he's trying to get rid of. Of course I am courious and get his number. I just got off the phone with him and these are the numbers he gave me off the block.

D20E-C6015-AB F210

After some searching I found the D20E suffix to be out of a Torino or Fairlane. But it's not Boss 302 Specific.

Questions ( and I know I could go look them up and I am doing so as I ask these questions, I just want more opinions as well ).

Did Ford offer the 302 Boss in a 70-76 Torino or Fairlane? If so, is there any way to determine from those Block casting numbers?

Is this guy full of ish! and I'm catching it?

Thanks.

Boss 302's were only built for the 69 and 70 Models of Boss 302 Mustangs. That engine is a 1972 Fairlane engine. He's blowing smoke up your ***.

eh - nvm. I went and looked at the motor. Before I left the house I even asked the guy to look at the block and tell me if it had screw in freeze plugs and he said yes it did.

I get there only to find out that's it's a 2v POS that's been in the back of a POS truck sitting in the weather for god know's how long. I hate when people try to BS you hoping they find a fool.

anywho - cheers.

What was he thinking? Did he think you were too stoopid to recognize a Boss 302?
