Paxton Supercharger
I want to add a Paxton Supercharger to my car. The question I have is should I go with the old style original(Driver Side) system or should I go with the latest (Driver or Passenger Side) system? The old style looks much simpler and straight forward where the new one seems a bit in your face. Any observations/opinions would be appreciated.
I guess it depends on whether or not you are going to have/add A/C. If not I would keep it simple and go with the original drivers side setup.
Btw timelockmind just had one installed in his fastback. Might ask him.

Hi:
Not quite sure what you meant by the "old" versus "new" style of Paxton supercharger The current model for carbureted Mustangs is the Novi 1200. You can order the kit for either the passenger or driver side (it is the same unit) depending on your accessories.Eithercan be installed in 4 to 8 hours. And both are straighforward.
I am told that the passenger side is the more popular- and that the original Shelby supercharged carscame on the passerngers side as well.
The fun factor of adding this option cannot be overstated. When not under boost it drives totally normal. But when you press the gas pedal the beast is released... what a rush! And as far as looks - it stops people dead in their tracks.
Iknow some make fun of people who install superchargers on a classic car. Personally, I think they are either uninformed or perhaps abitjealous. I cannot imagnine anyonenot have anengraved smile on his/her face after expereincing an extra 100 horses on demand. What an AMAZING RUSH!!! Oh, and the sound this engine makes... you've never heard anything like it.Take a look at the chase scene in themovie Bullit. Then ask yourself: Whywatch when I can experience the drive myself?
I suggest you visit Paxton's web site or call them at (888)-9PAXTON if you have any technical questions. They are great to deal with.

I am tending to go with the original. I am going to have the work done by the guys at Cobra Automotive in Wallingford,CT.
Hay Timelockmind, how much boost are you running. I also need to know where I can get a chrome Monte Carlo car. The one like you show in the attached picture of the mustang with the old style Paxton. Also, what are you pushing for horsepower and what can I expect with my mods.
Thanks guys
