Best Paint Remover
Media blasting varies with where you are having it done. California is more expensive than Wisconsin. Walnut shells work really nice but they leave a bit of residue, its kinda like a light oil. The big thing now is soda blasting, it can be used on a car that isnt stripped to nothing, it works fast and it doesnt warp the metal.
Check the yellow pages in your area and give them a call, find out how much it will run you for what you want done.

The key is getting it primered immediately after getting it blasted. I found a shop that would do that. $700 to media blast the car with some sort of plastic granules and then epoxy primer it for an additional $300. Well worth it.
The easiest way Ive found to strip paint - brake fluid. Pour it on, let it sit for about an hour or so, wipe away with a rag. I bet its a lot cheaper to buy a gallon of brake fluid than it would be to blast a whole car.

Media blasting is by far the cleanest way to strip a body. But, walnut blasting causes a lot of heat build up and can warp large pieces of relativily flat sheet metal. The best media blasting is done with baking soda or glass beads.Using liquid strippers is a real PITA and messy, and you have to dispose of the residue. +1 on the get it primed after stripping or you'll have to do itall over again, cause rust starts right after the paint is removed. A good etching primer is the best, just get it one quickly after the paint is off.

You might not believe this. but I have stripped two cars with a straight razor blade. Buy alot. It seems to work very well with clear coat base coat and less so with original acrylic enamel. Once you get under the clear [start on an edge] lay the blade down low and go as fast as you can without the blade digging in. Then use the cut edge as the next pass with the razor. Once all, or most of the cc/bc is gone it is alto easier to sand to metal or original paint.
