what is the deal with the brake fluid? Has anyone else done that and how well does it really work... Will it take it down to the metal? I guess im a little skeptical
I know that the top of my vise has a lot of missing paint from bench bleeding MC's on it.

Rather than using something that will damage paint incidentally like brake fluid, just use some chemical stripper if that is the way you want to go.

well it depends on what u want to do stirp it to the metal or just scuff it up for a quick reshoot etc

but for to the metal stripping go with 80 grit in a d/a sander it will take a while have to make sure to keep the d/a flat so u "dont dig ditches"

DA will take an air compressor the size of a friggin zeppelin....dont even bother....get one of those $9 angle grinders from harbor freight, and get a stripping disc and just go to work. i did my whole car in about a day and a half. its like a hot knife through butter. prob will need more than one disc but its the easiest way i found. sure there is dust, but at least its just dust but there is no sticky mess like with paint stripper....which by the way is the worst way to strip anything i have found.....sure it makes a few bubbles but it ends up being you stripping off the paint with tons of effort and then your left with a sticky mess after its all over that oyu have to clean off......but u cant really get into nooks nad crannys good....thats where you should sand blast.

true it takes some air volume and pressure but its a good idea to only stip one panel at a time that way it will only be exposed to the elements for a little while

but for the quickest and easiest wasy the chemical stripper is a great way to go(get the one in jug not the spray) u brush it on lay some saran wrap on top of it(keep it from evaporating so quickly) then scrape it off with a bondo spreader(it doesnt take filler off though)

yes its caustic youll need glove and to do it in a well ventilated area
