something i dont understand
why do people put the mod motor the 4.6/5.4 in our classics why do all that work for little power and relueable problems why not just put some bolt ons on the engine they have more power and easyer
modern driveability.
Same reason why a lot of corvette guys swap to LT1 and LS1 era drivetrains (although LS1's are also justified better by their power).
those mod motors can be quick too...

Some of my friends have did that exact thing. They say they like the challenge and that it makes them more dependable. I still like the old raw horsepower though. Even with the little wirks that go with it
There are not that many problems and if you like building cars it is fun to do. I can't wait to put a 351 in my 66 it will be awesome. I understand the want to keep things stock but that is not everyones cup of tea.
I don't understand why everyone says it's more reliable. Ol' Yeller is 42 years old and has never left me stranded. Shortly after getting the new 03 Mach, I left the farm at 0300 on my way to Houston. Well, to get to I- 10, you have to go about 100 miles through the country and there is only one town between the farm and I-10. Well, about 40 miles from that town at around 0400, the Serpentine belt broke. I started calling wreckers, but had no luck until 0700. He showed up at 0800. I didn't get back on the road until noon. And, if that computer ever goes south, you will have to take out a lifetime loan to get it fixed. More efficient, maybe. But more reliable, absolutely not.
