i have a 66 mustang, and for some reason when i put the reverse gear on, the lights dont stay lit up. they flash when i switch into reverse, but wont stay on, anyone know why?
sounds like a connection problem.... bad connectiong to the power or a bad connection at the switch, or a bad connection at the light, or a bad connection to the ground.

RE: reverse light problem
I have that problem on the fastback from time to time. I have found that I can "feather" the shifter (automatic) around a little bit and the backup lights will stay lit. Hasn't been a big enough hassle for me to troubleshoot it beyond that yet.
you might need a adjustment on the reverse light switch on the trans or maybe a new switch.
we had this same problem on a customers car and the switch fixed it.
i think it might be that adjustment or change in the tranny, because ive been having a bit of trouble getting it on, but am getting it adjusted this thursday, hhmm... hopefully just a simple adjustment.
