Torque wrench
I have a beam type torque wrench is this an ok wrench to use? i have another , i believe its the one that makes a click or noise when you have reached the right presure ? input anyone
in reality, a well made beam type (snap on) is more acurate. I use mainly click types. And yes, you need to leave a click type unloaded when stored, no worries on unloading the beam when stored.

You can buy a click/ratchet torque wrench at Wal-Mart for a song.

sure maybe digital. but must be a pain in the *** checking on the gauge while wrenching if there's no 'click'
You need an accoustic signal that the torque is reached. Or at least feel it. All wrenches usually make a snapping movement when you reach the torque

Its a torque wrench. Why do you need digital etc. Just more potential for problems. I prefer analog. It was good enough for the automotive industry for how many decades? Good old fashion physics is good enough for me (kind of why I like old cars). Buy a quality beam wrench, don't abuse it and it will do its job for a long time. All the other do dads are just marketing gimics to get you to buy more stuff, IMO.
the 3/8 snap on we had at work vibrated when you reached torque. worked great for little stuff like cam caps on aluminum heads where just a tad too much torque will strip a weenie 6mm bolt with a quickness.
