Default 65/66 Fastbacks - The Hidden Hoses

I did not know about the side vent hoses until my guys told me mine were missing. They do not make reproductions so they got mine off a host stang.

They are important drain vents...

Did you guys know you had them?Or what they looked liked?Or if yours are still in place and functioning?

Here they are...

I have often wondered where the water went that got into those vents.. I'm wondering if one could manufacture their own by getting two different sized hoses and connect them with an adapter of some sort. Interesting.......

Soaring:

Sure you can make your own - although the upper diameter flares out to clamp againt the drain connector (which you can't see in this picture).

This is one of those details that helps prevent rust over the long haul. Isn't it funny how the Mustangs keep revealing their secrets even after all these years?

As I mentioned, you can't buy theseas replacment parts so my shop did me afavor (it helps if you're spending a king's ransom on the resotration) and got them off ahost car.

It just takes a few minutes to put in... so my guess is thatit will run about 50 bucks with labor.

There is a hole outlet at the bottom for water drain off...

Any water is going to get intotheside vents. The drain hose isvery important because you don't want water sitting in those areas for long periods of time
