if you plan to put it in that 65 you're gonna have to eliminate your shock towers and put in place a mustang II suspension or similar. i'm not ever gonna say not go for it but be prepared for an *** load of work or to empty that fat wallet. either way you're probably gonna anyway. 351 will go in with a header swap if you have the v8 suspension in the car. 390 is in the same boat as the 460.either way, good luck with your decision

Do yourself a favor, and stroke a 302 then put some AFR 185 heads, a decent cam, a weiand stealth intake, a decent 4 barrel carb with about 650 cfm, some nice ceramic coated headers followed up with a2 1/2" exhaust system with an X pipe and series 40 Flowmaster muffs with turn downs right out of the muffs. That is all the kid car you will need. It will be powerful and loud. But, the first thing you are going to have to do is get a decent transmission and rear end, and upgrade your suspension to the V8 suspensuion, so you might as well get the disk brake conversion so you can have 5 lugs on the wheels so you can buy some nice wheels. Let's see.........that's about $30,000.00 all told. Wanna play, or do you want to fix that 250 six banger up so you can play at a whole lot less money?

I second that motion.

Not mine, 460 in a 65.

throw a turbo and 2brl carb on the 250 put a stronger tranny and rear end and call it a day cause itll be pretty fast then you can put a cam and a few other goodies and have a sick mustang

but if you do decide to swap just send the 250 and all of the motor mounts my way cause i could really use it

mustang 2 is the front suspension off a mustang2/pinto or a kit unless you can weld its pricey your best bet is rebuilding that 6 with more power or a 302 like soaring said but any v8 you put it in is gonna be alot of work good luck
