Default SEAT BELT INSTALLATION 1965 FASTBACK

Hello all, where can i find step by step informaition on how to install LAP belts in my mustang. I want to make sure i do it correctly. is there a good book or web site? thanks to all. marc

If all you want to do is put in lap belts, that's easy. Pull up the carpet from the rear floorpan and you will see the mounting nuts. One is on the side of the hump, and the other is on the side inside the door. Here's some pics. Order the belts from Andover restraints.

Not much more complicated, but you will have to do some drilling. Take your back seat out and you can envision where the belts need to be mounted on the floor as it rises up into the trunk. Drill a hole the size of your bolt, then use a large flat washer on the underside of the car and also one on top, Have a nut on the too and on the bottom so you can tighten it down. So, looking at the bolt, you have a nut, washer, then a washer and nut.

I'll snap a picture for the rear seat seatbelt locations. I have the back seat out right now because I replaced my rear shocks. I'll post the picture in a few hours it is 5:45pm right now!!

I just noticed he has a fastback Mike. At any rate, find a spot that right at the crack in the seat and the back of the seat to punch a hole through the floor as such. If you could weld in a nut on the bottom side, that would be the cat's meow, but that is getting awfully close to the fuel tank. KABoooooom!
