What color do you guys think would look best on my 1965 Mustang GT coupe. I was thinking about white with black stripes, but doesn't white turn yellow over time? What do you think?

 

Check the vin or look at some other colors that were possible with the 65. I think I'm sticking with my poppy "red" paint. The more I look at it the more I like it.

 

i would say black with white stripes

 

I am a HUGE fan of the Hertz GT350 combo, Black with Gold racing stripes

 

I'm not sure about the white turning yellow, but if you are thinking along the lines of it being white, white with blue stripes looks cool also.

 

or blue with white stripes.

 

i think that the original paint color is the best but if it were me i would say ivy gold or brittany blue

 

Either silver with 2 black racing stripes or the Hertz paint job (Black with gold stripes)

 

White with black stripes looks great on an early GT. Look at Jamesw's Mustang for an example. My '65 GT was white with black stripes and it looked pretty good when I got it, but like you mentioned, it did not age well. I found that mine tended to stain easily as it got older. Perhaps if it were clearcoated it wouldn't have been a problem.

 

If you are decided on the stripes, I like white w/blue stripes or blue w/ white stripes. I like this color blue.
