I went with a repo kit of the original matt....I think its pretty sweet and simple for being a 40+ year old design. I thought about upholstering the trunk the same black as the interior, but the original matt went well with the trunks silver paint.

 

65mojoe.. I must say that is the 1st trunk that I find not horrible with the original plaid cover! not bad, but I still would perfer some black carpet. I'm was looking at the carpet kit and think that is the way to go for me. Thanks to everyone who responded.
