really ment reciprocating weight, i've read you can free up approx 50 ponies just w/ a c4.

i'm gonna use a 6 pin planetary, i think that'll hold up quite well.

i've got the trans figured out, gonna have 6 pin planet, red clutches, kevlar bands, manual valve body, hardened input shaft, shift kit, should be good for at least 800 hp i figure

aww..well ya didnt state you were putting in a high preformance c4...a standerd c4 is only good up too about 250,,300 if its tci....with some cash..you can get a c4 to handle alot of power..but stock..that 429 will trash it a c4

you wont gain 50 horse power..youwill gain 25 or 30.....cause in total the c6 robs about 50or 55horse power...a c4 robs horse power too..just not as much,,.about 25 horses or so will be the gain..

in the drag racing world..the c6 is a ford fan fav...in nhra a c6 will weight less than a 4 speed..a c6 is 200 pounds...a 4 speed is about 125...but after ya put on the heavy duty clutch..45 pounds..and add another 50 pounds for a scatter shield...then your up heavier than a c6....i go to the strip alot...and watch all sorts of weak trans cars blow up..lol.specialy imports..lol..i swear i seen more of those cars blow up on the line last year than i have seen american v8 cars blow up my whole life..lol<~~ill be helping my budwithhis 71 comaro..750+ horse 454..air flow reseach heads..JE pistons..tci turbo 400 with transbreak...tubbed and shortend rear end..roll cage...he hoping to run 9's

a heavy built c4 im sure will last..i never had to deal with them..but im sure its kinda like turbo 350 vs turbo 400....they both have there good points and bad..but if you get one for 800 horse..it should last and then some

btw i thought about putting a 460 or 429 in my 73 too just cause original 351 cobra jet motors like mine are getting hard to come by...i would hate to blow it up...she has 4v canted valve heads and a 4300d carb still ...i thought about pulling it and leaving it in the garage with marvel mystery oil in the cilinders for long time storage.
