Vinyl top
My 65 coupe was born a Color-X Vintage Burgundy
I want to re paint it to specs but I find it kinda boring. However I thought a black Vinyl top would really do it justice.
My Questions:
1) can a repro Vinyl top be found for the car and is it a major project to install?
2) where do I find original PPG Ford code X paint?
Thank you for your answers

Just about everyone on here who has or had a vinyl top would tell you not to put one on it. The reason is that water gets trapped between it and the metal and rusts. Personally, I like that vintage burgandy. A dark gray would look good too. This is an original 65 color (smoke gray) and I think would look good on a coupe as well.
That smoke grey is absolutly beautifull especialy with the red interior trim.
Mine is black and I wanted to keep it unchanged. The temptation however to choose another color is strong even thoughthe resultwill not match the cars numbers anymore.

my car was originally silver smoke grey but that vintage burgandy looks very nice and dont add a top ull have to get all the extra chrome and drill holes[:'(] and theres the rust issue down the road Glen mentioned
Who parks their classic Mustang outside? Who drives their car in the rain if they can help it? The only time rust is an issue is when the top gets old and cracked. The water will get trapped under the vinyl and rust the top if left unrepaired for a long time. On the right car a vinyl roof looks killer, but I guess I'm biased.
