That is the same with hagerty. I have hagerty on my mustangs and american collectors on my 69 ss camaro and it has milage restrictions. If it is a daily driver regular is about the way you go, but if not my daughters 69 mustang for about $20,00.00 to 25.000.00 value is less than $100.00 a year thru hagerty.

I took the fastback off of the insurance for about 2 years while I was restoring it and when I went to put it back on, my insurance company (Cotton States), informed me that they no longer write policies for antique cars.

Check out Safeco Insurance. I have my car insured for actual vale with a 3K mileage limit and it costs about 35.00 a month. No pictures, no appraisals. Just an agreed upon value.

What I ran into with Hagarty and many other "Classic Car Insurers" were the sever restrictions placed on where and when I could drive MY car. That seriously PISSED ME OFF!!

I could not drive it to the store. I could not drive the kids to school. I could not drive it to work. I could not drive it out of state without prior permission.

According to them, I could drive it to and from car shows and incidental stops along the way. PERIOD. If the car was damaged and these very strict guidelines were breeched, then the car would not be covered.

And then to top it off, the condesending attitude of the phone reps! On a few different occasions I was told that I would be lucky to have their particular company carry me.

They can kiss my ever loving, homesick, fat ***!! Snowcones will be served in hell before I pay somebody for "coverage" like that!!

At that point the car is a potted plant because I do not go to car shows except one or two times a year.

Insurance is the biggest legal racket going.

God that pisses me off...........

Yeah they do have restrictions. But after my car got hit regular insurance didn't want to repair properly and with some fly by night crap paint and body work. They said my car was not worth the repair costs (their view). Now I have too many toys for regular insurance. They always find some kind of way to get out of paying you anything. If it wasn't for insurance on everything I might have a little money!
