look I know mustanglover works at T&L but really how much does HE make on an engine sale. If he was the owner and could cut us deals then yeah we would all probably be pushing the shop he works at. We also have members that work at places like autozone, but other people on the forum swear by NAPA or whatever. We're just letting em shop around.
I chose CHP because of the short blocks. I do not want a long block or a turn key, and I like the combos they are using.

As grruminator said, mustanglover66 works for a crate engine company, I visited their website and I was impressed with their engines and the prices of the engines. You get a lot of bang for the buck there, and if I am not mistaken these are all new engines with all new components.
I could be wrong, but when I was looking at their 347 stroker, they were using seasoned blocks which is not a bad thing at all if properly inspected and machined.

yeah as far as I can tell from the web page all T&L engine are used, however they do inspect them, according to the web page anyway.

Mustangs Unlimited = $3,699.64
Summit Racing = $4,059.95
Mustangs Plus = $4,300.00

They should pretty much have them in stock. I got mine from Mustangs Unlimited.

I looked at the page again, it looks to me that the only used component on the stroker engines would be the block.

I think I would rather have a seasoned block in a strokerthat the "Sportsman" block that seems to beused on most of the"new" crate motors.

It has been a while since I looked at these blocks, but there was somthing about them that I didn't like, I just cant put my finger on it right now...

Might have been the HP they were rated for or somthing.

yeah I ment the block, the list (as well as any reputable builder) what parts are new. Like I said a used/seasoned block at these places are usually sonic checked and all that jazz, you get way more bang for the buck from some of the places IMO. Take for instance fordcobra/theengine factory has complete turn-key applications for under 6 grand in either carbed or EFI

Just a little cleafication tand l uses mostly seasoned block thaey cleaned inspected and test before they are machined. New blocks are used for the higher hp engines like over 500 on a 347. they uaually dart blocks. but if you want a new ford block we can do that to it just drives the price up. I keep telling him he nneds to become a sponsor of this site but he has not got to it yet for some reason. But I will keep after him he is doing alot of other things now for advertising. As for discounts I don't think I could even get one other than working a deal with each peron in the shop to do stuff for me on their own time. Thats mostly because the engines are priced so low he doesn't make much on each one.

that's what I'm sayin. If I wanted a turn-key/long block I'd probably go with mustanglover66's place. It all depends on what you want.
