Default sources for a good crate motor?

Besides Ford Racing, anyone know of a good 302 or 289 crate? I need to buy one in the next few days and before I go buying the off the shelf Ford Racing 302...

yup, all depends on the HP goals and money you have to spend.

for the best deal check ebay, just pay attention to the parts used and the sellers feedback
for a run of the mill stock replacement Jasper's are great with an excellent warranty.
for nice performance and decent price look for Summit and Jegs
for an even better motor check out T&L, they seem to have quite the reputation for quality produtcts.
......then there's always edelbrock, roush, etc. etc

As grruminator said, mustanglover66 works for a crate engine company, I visited their website and I was impressed with their engines and the prices of the engines. You get a lot of bang for the buck there, and if I am not mistaken these are all new engines with all new components.

I had already ordered (and received) parts for my son's engine by the time I looked at this website or I would have bought one myself.

My brother-in Law is going to buy one in a week or two once he gets his $$$. (but his is a GM)

As a few people have said before i do work for T and L but if you need a motor in just a few days you may want to look at the others currently it is taking 6 to 8 weeks to get your motor from us. Mostly because they are custom engines and we do have a lot of work. But if you can wait they are some great engines. if you have any questiond you can call me a the shop or email me email will be slow though because I don't have email at work i do all the balancing there and not really into sales much.
