Default Floor Sound Deadening

I am in the preliminary process of restoring the interior of my 65 fastback and wanted to get a few tips on sound and heat deadening for floor prep. I was planning on stripping the carpet and using Dynomat on the floors. I also purchased a sound insulation kit from MP which appears to be pre-cut sheets of black rubber like material. Do I use this underneath or on top of the dynomat? How do I afix the sheets, 3M spray adhesive?

Thanks in advance!

If it was mine I would only use dynamat. That stuff you have the link for is to be used by itself. It is a replacement for the stock stuff. Dynamat is excellent stuff, Ive never heard anything bad about it except for the price.

Remove your seats and carpet so it's down to the metal. This would be the ideal time to inspect the floor for damage and fix it. I would lay down a layer of rust encapsulator, then dynomat, then carpet it.

Gotta agree with baddog on this. Clean up the floor and apply some kind of rust inhibitor and lay down the sound dampening material of your choice. Me being financial embarrassed, I choose the poor man dynamat..."peel and seal" from Lowe's hardware roofing section...works just fine....read the info in this link for more details...

Another option isQuiet Car.http://www.quietcar.net/ It is a thick paint type product that you spray/brush/roll. Supposed to be easier to apply and work better than mats. My brother did his car with this product with good results so I ordered some but have not applied it yet.

Anyone else heard or used this product?

Sound good!
I am looking at some Dynomat Extreme on ebay, wow this stuff can get pricey. How many square feet do I need to complete a 65 fastback? As for the rust inhibitor is POR the way to go, is there anything that allows for easy application (rattle can)?

Thanks again!
