Clock hookup issues **PICS**
I'm trying to hook up my clock on my mach so I can put the dashpad back on, but I have run into an issue. Where are the wires to plug into????
The clock has two plugs, one plug has 1 female and 1 male prong, the other has 2 male prongs and 1 female. In the passenger area of the car where the clock would go, I could only find a matching plug with the 1 female and 1 male. The other is no where to be seen. There is however a mystery female plug in roughly the same spot. There are no signs of anything being cut or ripped out. How do I hook up this clock???
Also in the passenger area is a random purple wire, that kind pops out of the wiring harness and turns around and goes back the other way. What could this be.
and last, there is a a plug with 2 female sockets towards the center of the dash. What could this possibly go to?
Here's some pics:
Back of clock

Plugs for clock

Passenger dash area

Closer view, not the stray single female connector

Random purple wire thats running away

Center dash, note the double female connector

Closer view

Hope this was detailed enough!

I don't know anything about the '69 other than I think they look cool
, but generally speaking, the blue wire on the early Mustang is for the light, the black is a ground so that would leave the green as a constant 12V source. Get your test light out and look for a constant on 12V of the open wires in your dash. Once you found it, remove the fuse for the clock from the fuse panel (assuming you have one). If power is no longer there for your clock, voila. As for the blue wire, turn on the parking lights and look for a 12V source in one of the unused plugs. Turn off the lights and if the power disappears, there you have it.
Short of that, head over to Mustang Country and pick up a wiring diagram for your year. The one at midlife66's site is not that detailed for the '69.
Good luck!

Looks like a blue/black and the black/yellow should go to the clock/ignition switch light
Clock light should be a black wire
the purpleish redish/blue also goes to the clock lights
(from what I can tell anyway)
You could always go down to the radio shack or whatever and get a bunch like 5 bullet plugs and build some test wires to see if any of those wires work for the clock.

Thanks for the help guys, so I should just tie them in to a different source manually? I do have some of those bullet connects for the electrical, so I can use them. I am just perplexed to how the plugs can just dissapear.....
I don't even know if the clock works! sure hope it does. I'm getting my car back friday or saturday (tranny rebuild
) so I guess from there I'll try to hook it up, and I'll be back for more questions!
I just want to driver her to school! haha
oh and thanks for the wiring diagrams! I have a book for my car somewhere....must find it.
