Default Custom Console for a 68

I am going to start building a custom center console for my 68. I want a console that has an arm rest, storage and will extend from the bottom of the radio to just behind the front seats (heck my kids need cup holders as well.) Anbody have any interesting ideas or pictures of what they have done. I will be putting in a lokar billet shifter ring. I was contemplating putting the 4" speakers that were originally intended for under the dash in the side of the console by my feet. Is this a good idea or would it sound better to leave them in the dash? I could angle them to be a direct sound source for the driver and passanger.

Ideas or suggestions, please let me hear them because the wood chips or fiberglass starts flyingtomorrow!

I was thinking about doing the same thing. Just do a search on this forum or another mustang forum for more info. Here are some pics I found and saved for reference. I can't take credit for making any of these, even though I wish I could. Maybe the persons who made these are on this board and can give you some more info. Here are the pics I have:

The last console is similiar to the one that is running through my head. Throw in two cup holders behind the shifter, a slightly higher arm rest area and two cup holders behind the storage area. Keep the ideas coming please!!!!

The Cougar pad was I nice touch. I thought the console looked factory.
Good imagination. I am using a Cougar hoodscoop on my car.
