Need some help with year
'69 was the first year for the foot pedal parking brake; 65-68 had hand brakes. If you try stepping on the "foot parking brake" on a 67 or 68 do not be alarmed when blue fluid shoots on your windshield

Yeah, you have a hand brake. The quick way to tell a 65 from a 66 is to look at the chrome on the rear quarter panel, and at the grille. The grille on the 65 is bee cone, and the 66 is bars. When inside, your 66 dash pad has little ears that run down on both sides of the radio, and you have the gauge pod as opposed to the idiot lights like my 65 has. Here is a pic of my 65's rear quarter panel.

Yes my 69 has a foot operated one, which I had to replace because some idiot PO removed or broke off the brake release lever. Oh well it all works now!
I kinda wish I had a handbrake those, I think I like them better. I didn't even know mustangs had handbrakes I thought they all had the foot operated one, well now i know!
