Need some help with year
I was thumbing through a haynes manualand it said that all 65's had a hand operated parking brake, and all 66 and later have a foot operated one. Mine has a hand one, and I cant find anymore info. Everything I got with the car says its a 66, but how can I tell for sure since I have no official literature on it and the VIN is to old to pull up?? Thanks much for any help.
if i remember correctly i think the first number in the vin tells you. if its a 5 then its a 65, 6 then its a 66.
edit: and im pretty sure that the '66 also have the hand parking brake and not a foot brake.

Yeah, you have a hand brake. The quick way to tell a 65 from a 66 is to look at the chrome on the rear quarter panel, and at the grille. The grille on the 65 is bee cone, and the 66 is bars. When inside, your 66 dash pad has little ears that run down on both sides of the radio, and you have the gauge pod as opposed to the idiot lights like my 65 has. Here is a pic of my 65's rear quarter panel.
it's got the hand brake. I think The foot brakes came out in mid to late 67... or 68 one. At least im thinking that, but i might be thinking about the foot operated washer pump my dads 67 has. OH well.
