Default Help with C4 and kick down cable

I have a 1965 fastback with C4 auto and an A code 289 with the 4100 autolite. The car will not kick down to the passing gear with full throttle. The kickdown linkage is attached properly but I am unsure of what spring I need and where the spring connects. The spring I am refereing to is the spring from the Kick down cable. Any help would be appreciated.

The pic you attached is topside on the throttle return. The kickdown spring should be at the tranny.

Your throttle return spring should go more like this: (from a tab on the intake to the carb, rather than what you have there. If the spring slips off that bend in the linkage, you could have problems.)

At the tranny... I had to take two pics because I couldn't fit it in one. On the left is the bottom end of the throttle linkage. On the right, the spring goes out of frame and into the second pic. (sorry about the mess...had a leaky pan and haven't finished cleaning under there yet.)

Yours might just need adjusting.
