Default Running on corn

I found that there is a lot more to running on ethanol than just pumping corn liquor into your tank.

corn ethanol is the biggest load of crap ever, the yeild of ethanol per bushel of corn is not very high, and the fact that corn is a food source, and we are using it for fuel will likely cause shortages

sugarcane, however, produces a much higher percentage of ethanol and is not a major food source

but even better

switch grass, its a grass that will grow virtually anywhere and will produce almost 100% ethanol, and its not good for anything else, so it would be perfect as an alternative fuel source

"corrosive and conductive nature of ethanol"

"You will burn more fuel because ethanol yields fewer BTUs (British Thermal Units) than gasoline. You get less power from a given amount of throttle, so you have to lean on it harder for the same amount of power."

no thanks![:'(]

ya but it would be nice to have the option at the pump for all the newer cars to take away some of the demand

my honda makes 100 horses and im going to put corn gas in it? its the people with SUVs and Hummers sucking up all the gas. i get 26 mpg in stop and go traffic during a snowstorm and 30 with normal driving. i fill up for less than 20$

as soon as im out of college im getting a stang and will probably get 10 mpg. and i CANNOT WAIT!

not to be a bubble buster but lets just say my family may or may not be involved in business pertaining to ferminting corn, and you dont use bushel corn, you used craked corn you can buy it at the co-op for 6$ for a 50 lb bag, but the basic recipie is 3 parts sugar to 1 part corn to 3 parts water and 3 oz of yeast so it would be 20 pounds sugar 6.5 pounds corn and 20 gallons of water and 3 oz active dry yeast and little things here and there, this will yield you around 4 gallons when you run it off and be around 100-120 proof in a boiler/worm system or slightly lower if you use the boiler/condenser barrell/worm system...the problem with sugar is that you cant reach as high a proof as with the corn, which most modern "mountain water" the people instead of cutting the corn product with water, just use lower proof sugar based product with no cutting as there money drink its cheaper to make than cutting corn product and equals about the same proof...

Corn is food, but, do you have any idea how much corn could be grown on just the land that the government pays farmers not to plant? The amount would be mind boggling. This should be developed to the furthest extent possible so that in the future we will be less prone to to fall victim to the extortion of forign governments.
