Ok...i know theres alot of wheel threads but heres one more quick one...i'm gonna get some 17x8's on the rear with a 4.75 backspace....BUT on the front i want a 17x6 or 17x7....i want the front tucked in real nice so what backspace do i need? I want the rear to have a bigger lip than the front so what would backspace do i need??? Thanks!! Gonna order some wheels today..just waiting on an answer to make sure i order the right fit!!

foose nitrous chrome or a boyd coddington.....maybe even some torque II's but so far the foose wheels!!

those foose rims are super fake looking in person just fyi.....especially the chrome plated ones. I would go for a polished aluminum set of boyd's or the TT II's.

i was talking specifically about the chrome versions of the foose rims. In any rim, take note there is a huge difference between the look of chrome and the look of polished.

If the foose nitrous rims in a polished finish will look better than the chrome ones, but still as far as the rim design goes, its a bit overdone for the simplier lines of a 66 mustang. In the end, your choice though...

To answer your original question: for a 17x7" rim, you're going to want a 4" b.s.

I bought some Boyd wheels 17x7 with 4" bs on front and 18x8 4.5" bs on rear. That is what Boyds guys recommended. Give them a call or go to the tire store you want to purchase from and have them call. The rears were a little tight at first but I had a poor quarter panel repair job from a previous owner. I had to replace the quarter panel to get it right and the wheels fit well. To give you a little more space I would have gone with 4.75 bs. By the way, I drive a 68.

4.75 is the way to go for the rear on the 65/66's, I would stick with that.
My buddy has these boyd's on his 66 and they look pretty badass:

those are the junkyard dogs right? I just got off the phone with Budnik and WOW...some expensive wheels...they recommended a 17x7 front with a 3.75 backspace and 17x8 rears with a 4.75...BUT it takes 6-8 weeks to get them...what would be the difference in a 3.75 and 4 in backspace as far as looks go? which one would have more lip? I dont mind paying the $$ but i may have to get 2 at a time so i wont charge anything....i'm trying to stay away from those credit cards!!

here are a couple more wheels i like...i guess it will give you all and idea of the style wheel i like...
