Default Fuel hose help

Well, I thought everything was a go, and as we all know, something always goes wrong...

First, the new gas tank: I put it in, and put in the new sending unit. You know it has that little elbow curve that the gas comes out of? Okay, remember that.

I filled it up this morning, and tried to start it to go get my insurance, and no luck. It never would turn over. A few days ago, I noticed the gas tank was leaking. Turns out, the hose that connects the "elbow" to the fuel line had a hole in it, and was leaking. i went to O'Reilly and bought a new hose, and put it in there. Now, I guessed that the reason it wasn't starting is because there was a kink in the hose. Right I was.

See, the fuel line's location makes the hose need an "S" curve to it, and thus it kinks. I finally DID get it to start by turning the fuel sending unit, making it more of an "L" shaped curve, but it still is slightly kinked, and the car is running like it's about to die.

Anyone have any idea what to do about this? I can't really bend the fuel line, cause it will break/kink.

Thanks again

you can bend fuel lines, you just have to use a line bender (same kind used on brake lines)

Yeah, if you don't have the sending unit in correctly, the float won't give you an accurate reading of how much fuel you have. Bend the hard fuel line until the rubber hose is straight.
