I just bought a 1967 mustang its got a straight 6, and i was wondering what engine would be best to swap to 289,302, 351. what i would like is to get to around 350-400hp at a relatively inexpensive price.

i was looking at putting this one in the car or would it be better to just go to a junk yard and buy a rebuild kit so it would be turnkey ready?
how difficult is the swap?

the engine swap is pie but the whole suspension and braking systems need to be upgraded to v8 specs check the www.carcraft.com site for a 400hp 302 build for cheap its on the tech articles link

I believe it had a 289 originally in it, but im not sure. the guy i bought it from liked to tinker with things and i think he swapped the engines, but if he didnt what kind of price are we talking about for suspension?

I saw that last night, when i was browsing the forums last night and i want one, but its a bit outta my price range, the car took most of the money out of me, thats why my best option im thinking is a junkyard and a rebuild kit.
I'll tell what a deal from an old jarhead you find a good block and get it to me I'll do the machine work to it and you can get a rotating kit from T & L that would get a short block 347 the rest will be up to you.
on edit: the cost $889.00
