engine question

Would a engine makea rocker arm tapif you change the oil from 50 weight to synthetic 10W-30?

Yes, and only if the rocker arm was not adjusted correctly while using the 50 weight oil. If your rockers are adjusted to specs, then it won't make much difference which oil you use.

If your adjustment was 'just barely' with SAE50, then you will notice a light tap with SAE30. I would readjust with any oil change, just for assurance.

yes it could make a rocker, or a number of other parts start tapping.

everything tap's in a old mustang

no, like everyone said, oil could be the the problem but just tighting down the rockers to spec

The lifter could be on its last leg. The 50 was thick enough to keep it quiet whee the 10/30 isn't.
