I went with this MSD dist. and the 6AL MSD box works great and works without vacume has mech. advance instead I love it.http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp
I'm running that same distributor. Did you tinker with the advance springs or are you running it out of the box?
I'm still running it out of the box, but that mit change when I pull everything again and do the build.

i have an accel "blueprint" dizzy which is basically a duraspark II rebuilt by accel. i've played with the weights, and with the vacuum canister.

i say the crane box is better because of how its rev limiter is designed. "popping" off the limiter is bad, the poor motor sounds like its going to explode. the way crane has theirs setup its like if you held the gas pedal at just the right spot to keep your motor at whatever your limiter is set to.

why would you ever hit it you ask? anyone who has ever decided to roast them tires should surely know , not to mention what if you miss a shift or hold it a little too long before upshifting an auto? hitting the limiter happens from time to time

+1 on the Pertronics. Simple and effective. Buy 2 and throw one in your trunk toolbox for an emergency

HEI is the way to go imo, used this before and forgot about it for years(only bad thing is the aesthetic, but having a seperate coil bolted on isn't exactly swishy either)

i want one with VAC advance. I think I might go for the pertronix + coil
--> Buy 2 and throw one in your trunk toolbox for an emergency.

can't afford that. pertronix distri is 250$+ But that's what I had in mind for the HEI ;-)

I agree with Silverbullet69 and jspagna1. I also have the Mallory Unilite. Simple and good looking with no need of big'ol box sticking to your fender.
