PCV Setup question
I have a question on proper PCV setup.
Right now I have a breather for the right bank that goes to the PCV valve and then to the vac port on the carb. The left bank is just an open breather. Oil slowly accumulates in the breather and then drips down on everything and ends up making a mess.
1) Should I add a breather with a vac line and T it in to the other line on the right bank before the pcv valve?
2) Should I just add a non vented breather (cap now) as the left bank provides sufficient ventilation by its self???
3) are none of the above an option as the current setup is my only choice?
Let me know what if any options I have.
Thanks

right so do I.
Both valve covers have breather caps on them. The right side goes into the pcv then the carb but the left side doesnt go anywhere and oil drips out of it (not much but over time it makes a mess) So can I do something about the left side?
Brandon you must have an I6 thus only one valve cover to worry about.

nope 289 hmm make sure that the valve is functioning properly and second that the hose isn't collapsing under the vaccum on it cause i ditched the pcv one time cause i didn't want the hose the next day after a 100mi trip there was a large oil puddle on the ground and oil all over my engine but i use a standard breather on the driver side and a pcv cconnected strait to engine vaccum on the the pass side and never had a problem but you can try vaccum on both supposedly vaccum in the crankcase make your rings seal better but i have never tried
The vacuum on the right bank and the vent on the left. Air goes in theleft side and through to the PCV. If you blow oil out the left vent it's because you have more blow by/ compression loss than the PCVcan take care of.
Okay So I guess there is not much I can do about it.
I think small drops of oil accumulate over time and eventually leak out. I know its suppose to be suction through there but its always done even when the engine had 3,000 miles on it.
Thanks for the info
