will this work for me?
I found a 88 4 cyl mustang that runs good but just crushed in the rear (way beyond repair) and it had a o/d automatic in it. my question is, is the 4 cyl aod different then the 302 or 351 aod's? i wan to put it behind my 351 cleveland and i think it can get the car pretty cheap. thanks for the help
Based on my recall, there are different size converters depending upon engine size. The smaller engines getting a smaler/thinner lock-up band. Recvommend you talk to Auto trans parts wholsaler, who should know best for your needs. DAs O usually have something torn down, am on good terms with ATF person. He recommended the 302 pickup converter (with a 2 inch lock-up band. As always, no warranty is implied or expressed. Throttle pressure is real critical on AOD, REad up on them.

Of course I am largely ignorant of the AOD, it may be fully upgradable, and it may be possible torebuild the trans to work well behind your 351.
