Default Nitrous Oxide

I was wondering if I can run nitrous on my 302. Its been bored .030 over and its compression ratio 9.5:1. It has been balanced and has forged pistons. I was told its not good to run nitrous on higher compression engines.

Default RE: Nitrous Oxide

You can run nitrous on it with no problem as long as you stay mild with the amount used. Stay under the 150 hp level and you should be fine. You already have forged pistons and if the engine is in good shape internally your OK. If you go to the NOS website they have a section that tells you what the requirements are and how to tune the setup. Lots of people think nitrous is some kind of black magic and are scared of it. It's perfectly safe and the best bang for the buck you can get. Most good setups can be bought for under $500.00. I've used the NOS sniper system for years on my 429 engine with no problems.
