Classic Inlines actually has an aluminum head coming out for the I6 (and aluminum intake). From what I have read it will be easy to put on a 2V Carb as well . That alone should give a good boost on performance.

Ford six also has a section on turbo's but its alot of custom work.

Don't waste your money.........Just drive the car with what you have and leave it alone till your ready to spendyour money wisely. You can build a I6 or V8 but in the end you'll have the same money spent. So save, enjoy, ask questions and save..You need a direction with what power plant your going to use, then start..[sm=smiley20.gif]

I agree with keeping the motor that came with the car. Mine is a basket from bumper to bumper and has had too many modifications and needs too much work in general for me to just say, "Ok, I'll leave the 6 in there."

I'm swapping out to a V8 for a few reasons.

Ford Six took FOREVER to come out with this head of theirs. I've been watching since 6-05 and they still haven't offically produced the thing for sale from what I can tell by their site. Not saying this isn't going to be a great thing when it does come out. And, hey, who knows, maybe it'll spawn a reverse in the I6 to V8 swapping we see all the time.

The PO and the PO to him vandalized the car. The color was changed a few times and horribly done each time. The stock 3 speed (which, even being the dog it was, should have stayed in there) was replaced with a C4. Then, there was a few accidents which racked up some damage points. The rear Qtrs need to be replaced. The fenders need to be replaced. The doors need to be replaced, the glass needs to be replaced. In short, past the shell of the car itself (which, even at that, needs some work) everything needs to be R&R'd.

All the time, money and work I am going to put into the car I might as well build up a nice8 to go with it.

the only reason the aluminum head is taking so long is cause he wants it to be perfect and nobody would have known how long it was going to take to make it if he hadnt announced it which is what other companies do cause it takes alot of engineering to create a brand new head from almost scratch

as for turbo yes at the moment there is alot of fabrication but the company that makes classic inlines current headers is in the process of making a turbo header for the I6

and if you go to fordsix.com and check out the small six performance section you will see actuall dyno results form the aluminum head on a drag car with a turbo

Not to start (again) but perfection should take this long and if you want perfection, don't say something till you are at least testing the product out. That was misleading. The first time I went there I thought "Oh Goodie! I'm gonna have a power adder for my 200in no time. Than 6 months later, nothing. Another 6 months, nothing. Another 6 months, still nothing. It's almost been 2 years and there are NO production dates. There is nothing on this thing aside from numbers. I don't wanna see what numbers you pulled on the dyno if you can't tell me what you are gonna charge and when you are going to start shipping.

It is very frustrating to have to sit and wait and wait and wait for something like this to finally come out. I could have had 4 different 8's built, installed and blown up in my 66 in the time it took to wait and the thing still has no production date.

IMO, you all are chasing after a pipe dream.

Time is money. The more time I have to wait, the less money I make. The longer I hang on to a dream of this part coming out, I have to wait longer to fully resto my coupe. The longer I wait to resto my coupe, the more expensive the parts will get (it's called inflation. todays dollar won't buy what tomorrows dollar will. Just like 1966's $3,000 mustangs are gone forever).

I did what most normal people would do, get tired of waiting.

Like I said in my last post. I'm sure this will be a great produst, but I personally am disappointed that it "took so long" or that this person "teased" us with this idea and than decided to go for prefection. IMO, he should have waited till he had solid numbers and a good model to work with before saying anything.

I hope you all will be pleased and I hope (for your sakes ONLY) that it is worth the wait. While you guys are waiting for this head to come out, I'm gonna put some time and money into my coupe and a nice Man-O-War 4-bolt main block.

Yeah, trying. I got a bunch of stuff out and I'm trying to figure out what's worth selling (I gotta figure in shipping costs). I may just dump the motors and trans at the local bone yard and sell whatever is left. Than it's on to the body. gotta get the body work done before anything else.

Slowly it will become something.

Like I said a few times in the past when this has come up. I don't doubt for a minute this product will give a nice hop up in performance, but the legnth of time I sat and stared at the same web page telling me "We're on our way to the dyno" (which I might add took several months for them to finally get to and back from the dyno) frustrated me and dissappointed me. I wish this guy success with his product, I really do. I just wish he would have kept it under wraps til there was something solid before saying he had/was making one.

I agree it has taken forever and the wait has been killing me. But gas mileage alone could make the difference if your talking finances of switching to a V8 vs waiting with the I6. I am not defending the guy making them, but I am glad he is being a perfectionist, I would hate to spend ALOT of money just to find out the results are bad.

Also you can do a swap to a T5 with the I6 if you would like, I think its moderndriveline.com (need to double check) that sells the adapter.

As far as Turbo's go, I don't know much about it, but I am glad to hear he is helping make it more standard. I would LOVE to put a turbo and EFI on my 6.
