Default power stering

I am trying to take the power stering valve out. It is the thing that the gear box is connected to by the pitman arm. Do I have to pull everything out to get that sucker off?

Depends on what year and engine size you have.
This link should probably help:

Are you trying to take it out to make repairs to it or...? If you can get enough slack in it to slip the stud from the valve unit out of the pitman arm you can then just unscrew it from the center link. If you cant get enough slack you are probably going to have to unbolt the idler arms so you can lower the whole system to get the clearance.
