Default Diffrential code

Hi,I have a 67V8,and i guess its a 390 engine http://www.madmustang.4t.com/cgi-bin...04-06_1218.jpg
anyway i have a problem with my deffrential its too short(i do a burnout on the 3rd gear very easly),
ring=38 spline and pinion=10 spline wich i guess make a ratio of 3.8
now i have found aused diff i dontknow anything about it but
the tag say:
C4AA-A
4 11 3 LA SP
can i know the ratio from this tag??
and if anyone can helpme if its ratio will help in getting a more top speed

per usual the first 3 numbers in 2nd line are the ratio, which in that case makes it a 4.11 ratio which would be even worse

That looks like the early 60's GM numbering system.

Looks like a 4.11:1 locker. The number of splines don't matter. It is the number of teeth on the pinion and the number of teeth on the ring gear that matter.

You are funny. Most the people here on MF want to do burnouts through 3rd and your trying to get rid of that "problem". Maybe someone here on the board lives near you and would trade theirs for yours.

OOOPS, never mind. I don't think any of us live in Lebanon. Welcome to the Mustang Forums.

A 4.11 with a locker/LSD would be 4L11 and not 4 11.
