Anyhow, yes I did get a new oil pump and all, b/c mine wasn't working thus creating super high oil pressures and casuing my filters to pretty much self destruct, but I guess my engine is still running 10-15psi higher than the usual, they are supposed to run at 30-60, mine does 70-75, This shouldn't be enough to have the oil blast off the filter again is it?

Hopefully a piece of degree just messed up my 1st one when I got my engine upgraded and that 's all it was hopefully, so I am praying that the new oil pump will do the trick, if it doesn't, I dunno what I'll do....

But yes, it should be ok, your guys' thoughts?

 

If you are really nervous or if the filter shows signs of bulging, put on a high performance oil filter. They have a thicker can and base to handle very high oil pressures. FWIW, I have run standard filters in vehicles with 80 PSI with no problems.

 

Or you can use thinner oil...keep your pressure where you want it.

 

What kind of oil are you using? 10w-40?

 

I was using 10-40, now I am using 10-30, so hopefully this will help some also.

 

I don't think I would go any lower then 10w-30.
