Default WHERE IN THE CAR

OK, i bought motor mounts for the V8 swap, and apparently there is some other little freaking piece that i need because they dont mount straight in the I6 engine bay.....what do i need?

Did you get the mounts and frame brackets. Just wondering 'cause you need both. The mounts go between the frame brackets and the engine. I think that's right [>:]

if you bought the rubber mount only youll need the frame buckets i think thats what they are called it goes between the rubber mount and the body like this http://www.mustangsplus.com/Merchant...e=motor_mounts

THATS THE BITCH I NEED!!!!! I couldnt find those in an autoparts store around here ill look again, but is there any car i can take it from like an old comet, cougar, mustang, anything?

You'll probably have to order it from a Mustang parts place, unless you have a classic car pick & pull near you. I would think brackets from a similar year cougar would work though.

ok i think i might have a place that would have them....i hope! other wise my project will be delayed even longer.

Motor mounts were the biggest problem for me upgrading from a 260 to a 302.All the parts store guys just sighed and told me there were too many variations in motor mounts for that car that year.they had no idea what to order.I was lucky enough to find an auto wrecker within 15 miles of my house who had a 70 mustang with no motor and all mounts were there,easy to get,right for my application.
The unfortunate part was the guy knew my problem and charged me $90. for them.

am i missing something here why did u need mounts the 260/289/302 etc use the same mounts
