I hate brakework.
this weekend i had a busted wheel cylinder so i jus decided to change them all the way around and put new shoes on it all the way around and have all the drums turned. Everything was going great, got everything back on and bled the rear brakes. Moved to the front brakes, and first brake pedal pump that hose , (small brake hose connecting metal to cylinder on inner fender) shot out a leak like you wouldnt believe. man i was pissed. My grandfather told me that while i was at it i should replace the other side as well because it prolly wouldnt be too far behind in bursting. ooooh the joyof workin on these cars, i love it.
oh yea almost forgot. On a dual bowl MC, does the front reservoir correspond to the front brakes, or is it switched. Cuz when i had that busted wheel cylinder and hose, i had no brakes. At all, anywhere, front or rear, nothin. No peddal..Peddal hit the floor. Nothin, nada. you get the idea.
I feel your pain brother,I just installed a front disc conversion on my 70.Had loads of fun with that one.Back brakes bled out no sweat.Switched it all to silicone fluid.Could not get rid of air in front system. After the third bench bleed,I finally got the air pocket out of the MC.Seems the installed setup is tilted up slightly and the air can only escape if its tilted front down.Only took 2 days of bleeding brakes with minimal help, brake fluid everywhere.
At my most frustrated moment,my neighbour came over to ask what I was up to and what was does that thing do,maybe its your vacuum.......I could have thrown him across the lawn at that point.I was ready to put a for sale sign on the window(cheap).Thought better of it when I finally got a pedal.
